“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
Here is our December Newsletter. This month each of our staff shares some highlights from the work of Daylight in 2015.
It is a busy time in the office at the moment, as we post our December Newsletter to our supporters who do not have email addresses. This means a lot of printing and folding!
We are thankful for the opportunities we have been given in prisons this year. Prisoners have been reached through over 150 Sunday services, over 410 Bible studies and almost 130 sessions of courses, such as Christianity Explored, Discipleship Explored and Science & Faith. Through these activities prisoners have been converted or restored and are growing in grace.
In addition to our work inside prisons, we have continued to mentor ex-offenders. It’s been wonderful to see answered prayer in the lives of some of these individuals and see the difference that just having someone who cares can make to them.
Our Prayer & Support Groups have continued to meet for prayer this year and some of the groups have also been running prison services and Bible studies. We were pleased to have a new Prayer & Support Group start this year and ask you pray for opportunities for more groups to be set up.
It’s been a real encouragement to speak to and receive letters and emails from many of you this year who are faithfully praying for Daylight.
At this time of year, many of us will be spending time with our friends and families. Please remember prisoners as Christmas can be a difficult time for them.
Thank you for your support in 2015.
Yours in Christ,
Hannah Mansfield
