“I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust…” (Psalm 18:1)
Happy New Year from all at Daylight! Our January Newsletter is available to download here.
In preparing a message to be sent into prisons this week, we were thinking about words from the poem God Knows by Minnie Louise Haskins quoted by George VI in his 1939 Christmas Day speech:
I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year,
“Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.”
And he replied,
“Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.”
As we enter a new year, prisons are once again seeing an increase in restrictions, and what lies ahead is uncertain. Yet in thinking about this poem, we were encouraged to remember that God knows, and that we can go into 2022 trusting Him to lead and guide the work of Daylight.
